Brazil's Tesouro Nacional issues of this period occupied an awkward institutional position — the treasury, not the Banco do Brasil or the Banco Central (which didn't yet exist), retained formal note-issuing authority well into the early 1960s. The 200 Cruzeiros denomination was part of a series that bridged the cruzeiro's final inflationary years before the 1964 military government's monetary reforms introduced the cruzeiro novo.
The "2nd print" designation distinguishes this from an earlier De La Rue run of the same Pick number — differences typically appear in serial number font, plate registration, or paper batch rather than any design change. Worth checking the serial block before attributing to either print.
