| Obverse description | Central field features a high-relief rectangular panel depicting a historical scene of multiple dignitaries and politicians assembled for the reading of the Act of Independence, rendered in fine sculptural detail. The upper legend reads LECTURA DEL ACTA DE INDEPENDENCIA 1821 in three lines across the upper field. The denomination 200 AÑOS appears in the lower center field, with the country name NICARAGUA inscribed in large letters along the lower rim.
