Obverse description At center, the Venezuelan national coat of arms displayed within an oval cartouche, featuring a quartered shield with a horse, sheaf of wheat, and crossed weapons, surmounted by a crest and flanked by elaborate scrolling laurel and palm branches. The legend CONFEDERACION DE VENEZUELA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 19 DE ABRIL DE 1810 curves along the lower periphery, both inscriptions separated by raised dots. The design commemorates the date of the declaration of Venezuelan independence from Spanish colonial rule. The fields surrounding the central device exhibit a polished, proof-like finish.
