| Obverse description | Brown letterpress Gutschein (voucher) on cream paper, enclosed within a decorative border of stylised clover blossoms. The header reads GUTSCHEIN in bold lettering across a floral band, below which the issuer inscription des Landeskulturrats Sachsen appears. Two circular seals bearing the Saxon arms flank the upper corners. A central vignette portrays a farmer leading two draft horses pulling a hay cart past a rural barn, set against a guilloche underprint of radiating lines and scrollwork. The denomination 200 000 Zweihunderttausend Mark is printed in large bold type above the vignette, with the place and date Dresden, 18. August 1923 to the lower left, a red serial number to the lower right, and the validity notice Gültig bis zum 31. The Landeskulturrat Sachsen — the Saxon Agricultural Council — was one of hundreds of regional and institutional bodies that issued notgeld during the hyperinflation of 1923, as the Reichsbank's output simply could not keep pace with the collapsing purchasing power of the mark. A 200,000 Mark denomination, unremarkable by mid-1923 standards, places this note in the acceleration phase before the truly astronomical figures of late summer and autumn.
The printer, Dresdner Akzidenz Druckerei, operated out of Chemnitz despite the Dresden name — a commercial job shop handling volume emergency currency work alongside its ordinary commercial print trade.
