| Obverse description | Cream-toned notgeld printed in black letterpress with red serial number and municipal stamp, enclosed within a decorative chain-link border. The left third carries a finely rendered intaglio-style vignette of a tree-lined streetscape with half-timbered buildings, while the right field bears the denomination 'Zweihunderttausend Mark' in bold Gothic blackletter, flanked by the numeral '200 000' on each side. Wilsdruff is a small town in Saxony, and like hundreds of German municipalities in 1923, its Stadtkasse was forced into the notgeld business not by choice but by arithmetic — Reichsbank currency was losing value faster than it could be printed and distributed. The 200,000 Mark denomination places this squarely in the hyperinflation surge of mid-1923, before the November Rentenmark stabilization rendered the entire series worthless within weeks of issue.
The embossed seal is the Stadtkasse's attempt at authority on a note that was, legally speaking, an unauthorized emergency instrument. Most small municipal issues of this type were printed locally on whatever stock was available, redeemed quickly, and rarely preserved in quantity.
