Reverse description
Junk sailboat at Ha Long Bay (literally `descending dragon bay`) in the Quang Ninh province of northeast Vietnam. Ha Long Bay covers an area of ca. 1,553 square kilometers and comprises ca. 2,000 mostly limestone islands/islets with great biodiversity. The core zone of Ha Long Bay was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, due to its exceptional natural beauty and significant geomorphic and physiographic features.
