Obverse description Green intaglio print on pale paper. The bank name "NARODOWY BANK POLSKI" appears in a ribbon cartouche at the top centre, with the denomination "20 DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH" in bold letterpress below. A central vignette carries the Polish crowned eagle. The date "WARSZAWA 15 LIPCA 1947 ROKU" and three facsimile signatures (PREZES, NACZELNY DYREKTOR, SKARBNIK) flank the eagle, while four corner medallions each bear the numeral 20 within fine guilloche rosettes.

Reverse description Green intaglio and letterpress print. A central oval vignette contains a still-life allegory of study and labour: an open book, a globe, a scroll, a set square, a key and bricks, framed by a laurel spray. Symmetrical guilloche panels flank the vignette on each side, and four octagonal corner counters repeat the numeral 20. The denomination "DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH" runs across the top, while a circular NBP monogram medallion at the lower centre is surrounded by the legal-tender legend in Polish.
