| Obverse description | Standing figure of Saint Mark the Evangelist, nimbed and draped in flowing robes, facing right and holding a long patriarchal staff or gonfalon in his left hand, with the kneeling figure of Doge Pietro Grimani at right, robed in ducal vestments and receiving the staff. The legend PETRVS GRIMANI SM VENET is distributed around the field, with DVX inscribed between the two figures. The coin features a milled or grained border and is executed in high relief, characteristic of the Venetian osella and multiple-zecchino presentation coinage. |
