Obverse description Central device features a highly detailed coiling imperial dragon rendered in high relief, its scaled body curling dynamically within a beaded inner border. The dragon faces left with an open mouth, clawed feet extended, and a richly textured tail, executed in the ornate Meiji-era style characteristic of early Japanese gold coinage. Surrounding the inner beaded circle, Kanji legends are arranged with the country name 'Great Japan' (大日本) reading vertically on the left, the reign era and year on the upper right, and the denomination '二十圓' (20 Yen) positioned at the base. Decorative raised dots serve as separators between the legend groups in the outer field. The entire design is enclosed by a fine beaded border at the rim.
