| Obverse description | Central field depicts a detailed relief of a traditional Korean palatial gate tower (resembling Pyongyang's Taedong Gate), rendered in high relief against a colored deep-blue sky. Flowering branches in color appear at the lower portion of the field. The circular legend along the upper rim reads in Hangul the full name of the issuing authority, while the denomination '20 원' (20 Won) is inscribed at the base of the design in raised characters. |
