Obverse description Central design depicts a detailed view of a traditional Korean palatial gate structure, rendered in high relief against a polished field, with tiered eaves and decorative stonework base flanked by stylized foliage. The Hangul legend curves along the upper periphery reading the full name of the issuing state and bank, while the denomination '20 원' is inscribed in the lower exergue. The architectural motif is characteristic of the Taedong Gate or a similar historic Korean monument.
