Obverse description Central motif depicts the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun) in Pyongyang, rendered in detail within the field. The Korean legend 조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행 (Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) arcs around the upper periphery in Hangul script. The year 2010 appears prominently in the lower central field, flanked by stars, with the inscription DPRK below. The years of the Dog cycle — 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, and 2018 — are arranged in two rows along the lower portion of the obverse.
