| Obverse description | Central field features a finely detailed depiction of the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), a historic Korean pavilion-style gatehouse rendered in high relief with characteristic multi-tiered tiled roofing and stone base, flanked by stylized vegetation in the lower field. A five-pointed star appears at the bottom of the inner field. The surrounding legend in Hangul script reads the full name of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, arranged around the upper periphery. The denomination '20 WON' and the date '2007' are inscribed in the lower portion of the field on either side of the central motif. |
