Obverse description Central motif depicts the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), the eastern gate of Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic multi-tiered traditional Korean pavilion roof and stone rampart base, flanked by stylized trees in the lower field. The circular legend in Hangul script reads along the upper periphery, with the Latin denomination '20 WON' inscribed in the lower exergue. The design conveys an architectural precision consistent with North Korean numismatic iconography of the period.
