| Obverse description | Central design features a detailed depiction of the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), the historic eastern gate of Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic double-tiered pavilion roof and stone base platform. The architectural structure is presented in three-quarter perspective, filling the majority of the field. The Hangul legend 조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행 curves along the upper periphery, identifying the Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The denomination 20 원 appears in the lower exergue. |
