Additional information

Issued as part of Turkmenistan's second national coin series, introduced following the 2009 redenomination that replaced the old manat at a rate of 5,000 to 1. The reform was one of the most dramatic currency overhauls in post-Soviet Central Asia, effectively wiping out accumulated inflation from the chaos of the 1990s in a single administrative stroke.
