Obverse description Black on brown underprint, without the green '20' in underprint that distinguishes P#7. A central vignette presents a seated female figure holding a book and pen, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The text panel carries the full promise-to-pay inscription in Spanish, dated Lima, June 30, 1879, with the denomination expressed both numerically and in words.

Reverse description Printed in blue-gray, the reverse is anchored by the Peruvian Coat of Arms at left, with the issuer name and denomination values arranged across the center and right portions of the note.
