Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Charles Emmanuel III facing left, rendered in high relief with flowing, elaborately curled long hair falling to the shoulder. The portrait is boldly modelled in the Baroque style, with naturalistic facial features and a truncated neck. The peripheral legend in Latin runs along the upper and lower rim, interrupted by the date 1742 in the lower exergue area. The coin is bordered by a fine inner circle of beading.
