| Obverse description | The Somali national arms occupies the central field, depicting a heraldic shield charged with a five-pointed star, supported on either side by two leopards rampant, all above a crossed pair of palm fronds on a decorative base. The legend SOMALI REPUBLIC curves along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the denomination 20 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower arc. The date 2014 is split to either side of the shield, with '20' at the left and '14' at the right. |
