| Reverse description | Central motif of a flying crane in silhouette superimposed over a rising sun disc emitting bold radiating rays that fill the field, evoking the traditional Japanese Hinomaru imagery. The legend 大日本 (Great Japan) is inscribed in kanji across the upper field, reading right to left, with 大正十年 (Year 10 of Taishō) along the right side. The denomination 20 SEN is inscribed in Latin characters to the left, reading upward. Three cherry blossom (sakura) ornaments punctuate the design at the upper left, upper right, and lower center. The entire composition is enclosed within a scalloped inner border and an outer beaded rim. |
