Obverse description Black on green underprint. The red seal of the Minister of Finance appears at left, with the denomination in kanji script at centre and as an Arabic numeral at right. Issued in the seventh year of the Taishō era, with the printer's imprint of the Great Japan Imperial Government Printing Bureau along the lower border.

Reverse description Printed entirely in green, the reverse is dominated by a large diamond-shaped guilloche vignette with elaborate lathe-work ornament. The denomination in kanji characters — 貳拾錢 — is printed in large script at the top and bottom of the vignette. Within the central medallion, the counterfeit warning inscription is rendered in vertical text.
