| Obverse description | Armored bust of Grand Master Francisco Ximenez de Texada facing right, wearing a richly detailed cuirass with ornamental shoulder guards and an elaborate curled periwig. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraving. The circular Latin legend reads FR.D.FRANSISCVS XIMENEZ DE TEXADA.M. around the periphery, with the date 1774 in the lower field flanked by pellets. The coin's beaded border frames the design neatly. |
