Reverse description The reverse bears the three-line Latin motto IUSTITIA ET CONCORDIA and the date 1773 arranged within a richly ornamented baroque cartouche composed of bold acanthus and rocaille scrollwork, with floral bouquets at the upper corners and shell-like ornaments at the base. The entire composition fills the field with no inner circle, giving the design a fully decorative, manuscript-like quality. The reeded edge is visible at the periphery, consistent with the milled production technique of Zürich civic coinage of the period.
