Reverse description The reverse presents a three-quarter facing portrait of the Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, depicted in late 18th-century formal attire with a powdered rolled wig, jabot, and coat, rendered in a detailed engraved style by Thomas Pesendorfer. To the left of the portrait, the dates '1732' and '1982' are inscribed in two lines, commemorating the 250th anniversary of Haydn's birth. The legend 'JOSEPH HAYDN' appears to the right of the bust in bold capital letters. The engraver's monogram 'TP' is visible in the lower left field. The portrait is executed with fine linear detail against a plain, unadorned field.
