| Additional information |
Issued as part of the FAO coin program, which ran from the late 1960s through the 1980s as a United Nations–backed initiative to promote food security awareness through circulating coinage. Morocco participated across several denominations, with the 1987 issue falling near the program's waning years globally. Bank Al-Maghrib produced these for general circulation, not as collector pieces, which means worn survivors are the norm.
