| Obverse description | Facing right bust of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, first Prime Minister of Mauritius, depicted in a suit and tie and wearing spectacles, set within the copper-nickel centre disc. The effigy is rendered in fine relief with detailed facial features and hair. A beaded inner border separates the central device from the outer nickel brass ring. The surrounding legend reads 'THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR SEEWOOSAGUR RAMGOOLAM KT * DR', arcing around the full circumference of the coin. |
