Reverse description Central device depicts a stylised rooster rendered in a folk-art manner, facing left, with an elaborately decorated body and pronounced tail feathers. Above the rooster, a gold-plated heart-shaped pendant inlaid with a cubic zirconia gem frames a Chinese character for rooster (鸡). Flanking the central bird in the lower field are smaller decorative folk motifs including fish and floral elements, all set against a dark, stippled background evoking a night sky. The Cyrillic legend ГОД ПЕЎНЯ (YEAR OF THE ROOSTER) is inscribed along the lower rim in bold lettering.

Additional information

Belarus has issued lunar calendar coins annually since the early 2000s, targeting the collector market almost exclusively — these pieces were never intended for circulation. The 2016 rooster issue appeared as China's own Year of the Rooster was approaching (beginning January 2017), with Belarusian state minting operations increasingly reliant on themed bullion and numismatic programs to generate hard currency revenue during a period of sustained economic pressure on the Belarusian ruble.
