Belarus has issued children's art-themed collector coins periodically since the early 2000s, a series that draws submissions from schoolchildren across the country whose designs are selected and transferred to the dies. The concept puts actual juvenile artwork — unmediated by professional engravers — onto legal tender silver, which creates deliberately naive imagery that sits awkwardly against the precision of a struck coin.
KM#576 is one of the later entries in that program.
