| Reverse description | A finely detailed high-relief representation of the Theotokos of the Sign (Znamenie) icon fills the rectangular field, depicting the Virgin Mary in an orant posture with both arms raised and palms outward, her head covered with a maphorion adorned with gold-plated star ornaments. A large gold-plated nimbus surrounds her head, and flanking her are two symmetrical winged angels with gold-plated halos. At the center of her body, enclosed within a circular radiate mandorla with a gold-plated nimbus, is the Christ Child Emmanuel shown frontally in blessing posture. Abbreviated Cyrillic Christological and Mariological tituli appear in the upper corners of the field. The legend ЗНАМЕННЕ is inscribed on a raised plaque at the base of the design. |
