Part of Belarus's long-running folklore series, this issue draws on the East Slavic tale of the bullfinch as a winter herald — a bird whose appearance in peasant tradition signaled the first hard frosts and whose song was considered an omen read differently depending on region. The National Bank of Belarus issued collector silver aggressively throughout the 2000s and 2010s, flooding the numismatic market with themed pieces to the point where secondary market premiums on most titles remain thin.
