| Obverse description | The obverse features the state emblem of the Republic of Belarus in the upper left corner, accompanied by the Cyrillic legend РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ arranged across the upper field. The central design presents an elaborate foliate and acanthus scroll ornamental border framing a diamond-shaped cartouche, at the centre of which is a circular medallion containing a relief depiction of an Orthodox cross with a small figure at its centre. The alloy designation Ag925 appears within the diamond cartouche. The denomination 20 РУБЛЁЎ and the date 2014 are inscribed along the lower margin in a bold serif legend. |

Bialynitchy (Белыничы) is home to one of the most venerated Marian shrines in Belarusian history — the Byalynichy Icon of the Mother of God, historically kept in a Carmelite monastery founded in the 17th century. The original icon was lost during the Soviet period, the monastery itself demolished in 1960. This coin was issued as part of Belarus's long-running Orthodox Icons series, which has used selective gold plating on silver flans since the early 2000s to distinguish sacred imagery from the surrounding field.
