Reverse description The reverse depicts a stylized traditional Belarusian wooden doorway rendered in high relief, featuring elaborately carved geometric folk ornaments across the lintel and door surround. The double door is shown partially open, and a color-applied golden key is prominently displayed in the center of the doorway, serving as the focal symbol of the house-warming theme. The lower portion of the design incorporates additional Belarusian folk geometric motifs. The Cyrillic inscription НАВАСЕЛЛЕ (House-Warming) is inscribed in the lower field beneath the doorway.

Additional information

Issued as part of Belarus's long-running series celebrating Slavic folk customs and domestic traditions, this piece commemorates the housewarming ritual — the *novosel'ye* — in which a new home is formally occupied, often preceded by sending a cat inside first to absorb any malevolent spirits before the family enters. The National Bank of Belarus produced numerous such ethnographic issues through the 2000s, several of which have appreciated sharply in secondary markets as the series gained collector recognition outside the former Soviet states.
