Reverse description The reverse features two stylised arches at centre, symbolising the openness of diplomatic relations and cooperation between Belarus and China. Beneath the left arch, a landscape representative of Belarus is depicted alongside a Chinese-script inscription reading 'Belarus'; beneath the right arch, a rendering of the Great Wall of China appears with a Chinese-script inscription reading 'China'. The names of both nations appear as a legend at the top of the field, and a two-line circumferential inscription at the bottom commemorates fifteen years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Additional information

Issued to commemorate diplomatic and economic ties between Belarus and China, this coin appeared during a period when Minsk was actively cultivating relationships with non-Western powers following years of political isolation from the EU and United States. Lukashenko's government had been pursuing bilateral agreements with Beijing since the mid-1990s, and by 2007 Chinese investment in Belarusian industrial infrastructure was substantial enough to warrant official commemorative recognition.
