| Obverse description | The square coin features an elaborately engraved border in the style of 16th-century decorative woodcut art, incorporating fantastical creatures, armour, foliage, and heraldic motifs in the field. At centre, a circular tantalum insert bears a stylized engraving-style portrait of a medieval armoured warrior rendered in full bust, wearing a plumed helmet and holding a mace or sceptre, depicted in the manner of Renaissance period military illustrations. The circular legend arcs across the upper portion of the silver ring, flanked by decorative elements. Fineness and denomination inscriptions appear in the lower arc of the ring. |

The Battle of Blue Waters, fought in 1362 near the Syniukha River, saw Lithuanian forces under Algirdas decisively defeat three Tatar princes, effectively ending Golden Horde control over a vast stretch of what is now Ukraine. Belarus has issued a long-running bimetallic commemorative series pairing tantalum centres with silver rings — tantalum's dark, near-black appearance makes it one of the few metals that can evoke a battlefield's gravity without any engraving at all.
KM#745 places this among a dense catalog of Belarusian commemoratives from the same period, many sharing the same 44.7g specification.
