| Reverse description | A naturalistic scene of three Asian elephants rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field: a large adult in the left foreground faces left with trunk lowered toward water, a second adult occupies the upper centre walking rightward, and a small calf is depicted between them at the lower centre. Stylised water lines at the base of the composition suggest a riverine habitat. The date 1993 appears in the right field, with a small mint mark below it. The two-line legend ELEPHANT / PROTECTION OF NATURE is inscribed along the lower periphery in Latin characters. |

Cambodia's early 1990s commemorative program coincided almost exactly with the UN Transitional Authority period — UNTAC administered the country from 1992 through the 1993 elections, meaning this coin was issued by a state technically under international supervision. The silver nature series from this period was produced largely for the collector export market, with distribution handled through Western dealers rather than domestic channels.
