The signature combinations on this issue track the turbulent ministerial reshuffles inside Bank Markazi during the late Pahlavi years — Ansari's departure and Yeganeh's arrival reflect the economic pressures of 1977–78, when oil revenue expectations were already colliding with inflation. The "short" versus "long" Farsi denomination variants on otherwise identical notes are a typographic distinction introduced during a mid-run plate revision at De La Rue, not a separate issue.

The Khoshkish/Yeganeh pairing is the scarcest combination, its window of issue narrowed by the Revolution itself.
