| Obverse description | The obverse features the denomination numeral '20' prominently displayed in the center of the field, surrounded by an ornamental wreath of stylized floral and foliate sprays interspersed with small rosettes and quatrefoil ornaments. The date appears in the lower exergual area within the wreath border. The peripheral legend, separated from the inner design by a beaded border, reads PETRUS I D.G. CONST. IMP. ET. PERP. BRAS. DEF., identifying Pedro I as Constitutional Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil. The overall design is executed in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of early Brazilian Imperial coinage. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays the Imperial arms of Brazil at center: a shield bearing an armillary sphere set within a rectangular escutcheon, encircled by a ring of nineteen stars representing the provinces of the Empire, and surmounted by the Imperial crown. The shield is flanked on either side by symmetrical laurel branches tied at the base, their fronds extending elegantly upward to frame the armorial achievement. The Latin motto IN HOC SIGNO VINCES curves around the upper periphery within a beaded border, referencing the Constantinian device. The composition is rendered in bold relief consistent with the milled copper coinage of the early Brazilian Empire. |
