Reverse description A large central circle contains an elaborate interlaced Arabic calligraphic inscription in thuluth script reading 'Al-Mamlaka al-Misriyya' (The Egyptian Kingdom), executed in an ornamental, overlapping style typical of royal Egyptian coinage of the period. Above the central circle, the denomination '٢٠ غرشا' (20 Qirsh) is inscribed at the top of the field. Below the circle, the Hijri date '١٣٤١' appears at lower right and the Gregorian date '١٩٢٣' at lower left, flanking the base of the central device. The entire design is encircled by a beaded border.
