The dual-printer attribution here reflects a transition mid-series: early issues from this P#31 run were produced by De La Rue, with Oberthur Fiduciaire taking over production at some point within the 2009–2022 span. Both firms were active contractors for Southern African central banks during this period, and the changeover was administrative rather than driven by any monetary crisis or reform.
Mohohlo served as Bank of Botswana Governor from 1999 to 2016 — one of the longest tenures of any central bank governor on the continent during that stretch.
