Additional information

Struck to mark the 25th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1972, this was part of a coordinated Commonwealth issue — several British territories released gold commemoratives simultaneously, sharing the occasion but producing distinct local types. Jersey's version was produced in limited numbers through the Royal Mint.

The .917 fineness is the traditional 22-carat standard that the Royal Mint had used for sovereign coinage for centuries, a deliberate nod to continuity.
