Obverse description The coat of arms of the Republic of Cyprus occupies the central field, depicting a dove in flight carrying an olive branch above the date 1960, the year of independence. The shield is flanked by laurel branches curving symmetrically to either side. A beaded or plain inner circle frames the central device, with a three-language legend encircling the periphery in Latin, Greek, and Turkish scripts reading CYPRUS, KYΠPOΣ, and KIBRIS respectively, followed by the issue year 1992.
