Obverse description The Imperial German double-headed eagle displayed at center, with spread wings and each head facing outward, surmounted by a single crown. The eagle bears a heraldic breast shield and foliate ornamentation below. The central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves with an oak sprig at the apex, all contained within a rope-twist outer border. The mint mark letter appears below the eagle at the base of the design.

Reverse description The large numeral '20' occupies the center of the field, rendered with fine horizontal line engraving, enclosed within a beaded circle. The denomination '20 PFENNIG' curves along the lower portion of the legend, while 'DEUTSCHES REICH' arcs across the upper portion, with the four-digit date placed to the right. Two six-pointed stars flank the lower legend at either side. The entire design is framed by a rope-twist outer border.
