| Additional information |
Eibelshausen, a small ironworking settlement in the Lahn-Dill region, was home to the Hessen-Nassauischer Hüttenverein — an association of smelting and foundry operations whose workers were frequently paid in company-issued scrip rather than Reichsmarks. These zinc tokens circulated as Werksgeld, redeemable only at the company store, a practice that kept wages effectively captive within the enterprise. The Menzel reference numbers suggest two catalogued varieties exist for this denomination.
