Obverse description The obverse is printed in dark blue-black and red on cream paper. A central dark rectangular vignette bears the large bold numeral '20' with the abbreviation 'Pfg.' in red letterpress, framed by a decorative red calligraphic border inscribed with validity and redemption text in cursive script. The surrounding field carries the payment obligation legend in bold black hand-lettered Gothic style text arranged around all four margins, with two manuscript signatures at the lower corners.
Obverse lettering GEGEN DIESEN SCHEIN ZAHLT DIE STADT HALLE / die Gültigkeit / DER MAGISTRAT
Reverse description The reverse carries a central portrait vignette in dark brown and grey tones, rendered in a fine engraving style, showing a three-quarter view of the philosopher Christian Wolff in period dress with a full white wig, seated with one hand resting on a book. The portrait is enclosed within a plain rectangular frame set against a dark stippled background, flanked on left and right by ruled line borders. A two-line caption in Roman type below the portrait identifies the subject and his years of activity in Halle.
