Obverse description Central intaglio vignette of Congressman William A. Jones in an oval frame surmounted by laurel branches, with a large blue circular bank seal at right bearing the Philippine National Bank legend. Denomination numeral "20" appears in guilloche panels at each corner, with a large blue "XX" monogram at left and serial number in blue ink above the signatures of the Cashier and President. The bank title and statutory authority text are letterpress-printed across the upper portion of the note.

Reverse description Printed entirely in orange-gold tones, the reverse centres on the Philippine coat of arms within an elaborate scalloped guilloche border, itself surrounded by a wreath of tropical foliage and palm fronds. Denomination numerals "20" occupy all four corners, with vertical "TWENTY" inscriptions along each side panel. The issuer name and note designation are letterpress-printed along the lower margin.
