Reverse description Uniface pattern; the reverse is unfinished and struck as a plain field, characteristic of a uniface trial piece. The surface displays the raw copper planchet with heavy iridescent toning ranging from blue to purple. Faint incuse die-preparation marks and scratch lines are visible across the field. A lightly impressed partial design element — possibly a preliminary sketch or transfer remnant of the Mexican eagle and nopal motif — can be discerned near the center, consistent with an incomplete or abandoned reverse die. The absence of any deliberate legend or device confirms the uniface nature of this pattern.
