Reverse description The reverse features a stylized representation of a Mayan ballplayer (jugador de pelota) rendered in the manner of classical Mayan relief art, set within a raised oval cartouche at center. The figure is shown in profile, elaborately attired with ceremonial headdress and regalia, in a dynamic crouching posture characteristic of the Mesoamerican ballgame. To the left of the cartouche, the denomination '20 PESOS' is inscribed in large bold numerals and lettering, with the 'O' of 'PESOS' ingeniously integrated into the numeral '20'. The legend 'CULTURA MAYA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the date '1979' and the mint mark 'Mo' appear in the lower field. The outer border is decorated with a repeated pre-Columbian stepped motif.
