| Obverse description | The obverse is engraved in a dark intaglio style with an elaborate lace-like guilloche border framing the entire note. At left, a portrait vignette of a uniformed male figure is set within an oval frame, while to the right a vignette of a standing stag appears. The bank title "Banco de Londres y Rio de la Plata" is inscribed at the top, with the denomination stated in both numeral and text form, and a manuscript promise-to-pay clause in Spanish dated Córdoba, November 1869 occupies the central panel. |
