Obverse description Within a raised inner heptagonal panel, the right-facing draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed with the George IV State Diadem, after the portrait by Raphael David Maklouf. A wide plain outer border frames the design, with the legend 'ELIZABETH II · GIBRALTAR' arcing around the periphery and the date below the truncation. The engraver's initials 'RDM' appear on the truncation.

Reverse description Within a raised inner heptagonal panel, a bunch of five ornate antique keys suspended from a ring, rendered in fine detail, occupying the central field — the Keys of Gibraltar, a historic heraldic symbol of the territory. The inscription 'TWENTY PENCE' arcs along the upper periphery of the outer border, while the numeral '20' is prominently displayed in large digits in the lower portion of the inner panel beneath the keys.
