Obverse description The fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse field, depicting the crowned effigy of the Queen in right-facing profile. The Queen is shown wearing the George IV State Diadem, adorned with pearls and floral motifs, along with a drop earring and a draped neckline, rendered with fine sculptural detail characteristic of the proof finish. The engraver's initials 'J.C' appear beneath the truncation of the bust. The peripheral legend reads 'ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 20 PENCE ·', disposed around the circumference and interrupted by the portrait, with the denomination '20 PENCE' appearing prominently in the upper left arc of the legend.
